Is this possible? Apple iPhone 4?
iPhone 4 16GB refurb $99 (i will be converting it to white on my own with a conversion kit so i don't care what condition its in)
Activation fee: $36
Early termination fee: $325
Total: $460+tax?
I am in desperate need of a new smartphone but i can't go on a contract with ATT. Is this possbile? are there any catches to the early termination fees because what i basically want to do is go in and buy that phone, and cancel the contract as soon as i have it in my hand.
I looked on ebay and craigslist and almost all fully operation, used iP4s' are at least $500.

With the iphone you have to sign up for a 2 year data plan of at least $15 per month, so that may be another $360.00. You also have not calculated in sales tax on the phone and at least one month service. Maybe it is better on refurbished phones, but with the new Iphone, you pay sales tax on the retail price not on the upgrade or contract sign up price of the phone. You need to ask these questions before making a decision. I did an upgrade to an iphone 4 for $200 but paid sales tax on like $900. You know the old saying "If it sounds too good to be true".
