Siberian Husky puppy - biting, normal?
My husband and I just moved up to Nunavut, CA and thought it would be a good idea to get a puppy. We have a little boy Siberian Husky puppy, we just picked him up today from a nice local breeder.
This is my first dog, but my husband has been raised with Alaskan Malamutes and Siberian Huskies, so he's more experienced than I am. He just left for work and so I can''t really ask him. I was told to ask on this site in the mean time, by a friend.
My little guy constantly bites my hands, not rough or anything, but it's kind of worrying me a bit. He just started doing that. It's only when I go to pet him on the head that he tries to nib at my hands. He never did this earlier, just now that we're at our home.
Is that normal, should I be worried? He just seems so playful, I don't think he's being aggressive but is he?
He's also 8lbs and 8 weeks old, is that a pretty good weight?
It's perfectly normal for your puppy to be biting your hands - but it's not something that you should allow to go on. I am including a link below to an excellen resource for how to deal with a biting puppy. It's important that you let him know that biting is NOT ok.
